Boy, oh boy – I’ve been sucked into the world of Instagram. It’s so addictive, I find myself checking in WAY too often. I need to set some limits for myself, I think. With TheMakersYear, I’ve found a few like minded English paper piecing folk and there’s a group that was started to encourage just a 15 min daily stitching session on these projects in order to hopefully see some progress. It’s actually been a great way to sneak in Β few moments on a rather huge WIP that I would dearly love to see finished up in the next year. I’m making a scrap hexagon queen sized quilt top. I began this top in 2012 and it’s entirely made by hand. EPP is really a great way to do a bit of hand sewing and enjoy seeing those seams come together perfectly!
On the knitting front, I’ve been busy. My garter stitch blanket almost has a completed second panel. I’m still reading War and Peace (I’ll be reading this forever, but it IS good) and a Maggie Sefton knitting murder mystery is my fluff reading at bedtime.
Umaro and Nicholas’ blanket have also seen a fair bit of action, but I’ll post more tomorrow on them.
I haven’t shown you some other stitching that’s been going on. I started this project back in November Β during the weekend away in New York with John. It’s a Rosewood Manor pattern (she has some really beautiful designs…) and it’s been so nice to see real progress on a piece.
Joining up with Ginny today – head over to see some fantastic work!
I love instagram because it’s instant (ha ha). It’s like texting, and blogging is like a long phone call. sort of. Love your projects and thanks for letting me know who you were on instagram π Happy stitching and knitting!!
I too love Instagram, it is way more addictive than Pinterest and I love the instant information that you can get, as well as seeing the great images that people post π
Am a new follower of yours there π

I am not sure what happened to my comment but I will try again.
Earlier I said:

Hi Natalie! It IS even more addictive than Pinterest, and I didn’t think that was possible…… π
All of your projects are delightful! The colors all play so nicely together that it is a treat just to look at all the textures and shades of your pictures. I too am obsessed with Instagram and would love to follow you! I am MrsDymacek. I also recommend that you follow MousyBrown. She is doing #365daysofEPP and she is making hexies as well. I need to wrap up my own hexie pillowtop project and enjoy her little reminder each day!
i’m with you…instagram is going to be my undoing; i find myself on it wayyyyy too much. definitely cutting in to the knitting time!!! π love seeing all the diversity in your craft life!
There’s talent right here! π
Oh, you are too kind π
Hello! Yes! I am reading War and Peace too. Very slow. It’s going to take forever, because yes– I have to read it so carefully! SO fun to find your blog through W&P of all things… lol
I love instagram too! I’ve calmed down though because I’ve been on there for a while. The blanket looks good and lovely needlework. I’ve just finished a sample embroidery and next some cross stitch.
All lovely projects and I see that they are SLOW as are most of mine π I have a quilt top waiting in the wings that has some EPP hexies in a border; I enjoyed making them. The Welcome stitching is just gorgeous.
I am always impressed with how many projects you have going at once. Your hands must always be moving!
Lovely projects! Good luck getting your quilt top done this year. I think you may have inspired me to dig out my entirely hand-stitched quilt that has been very lonely in a basket!
That’s a great idea Julia! I’m feeling determined π
Love with your hexies! EEP is such an addictive activity.
